The Rock: Day Four

The Rock: Day Four

posted on July 19, 2016

It’s pretty clear that Western Newfoundland’s mix of ocean and dramatic features makes for fantastic sunrises with awesome cloud formations.

On our final day at Gros Morne we headed north to Arches Provincial Park.

These incredible formations are the result of softer material washing away before the harder limestone.

In other news, Ruby Jean makes it hard to avoid mysterious looking dirt roads. Today was no exception.

Ultimately this road went on for several miles, crossing the barrens, two lakes, and a river.

The views were spectacular. We found a small community of hunting/fishing cabins and an abandoned well.

The vast landscape made Ruby Jean look small, but happy.
