The Great Pellet Migration of ’17

This week me moved 9,600 lbs. of pellets from the roadside down a crazy hillside grade to the back of our deck. Many thanks to Jeep, articulating hitch systems, and the makers of Ibuprofen.

Here’s how things looked at the starting line.

The starting line.

Each trailer load shuttled 1,200 lbs. of winter warmth down the hill.

The photos don’t do the hill justice, but Ruby Jean made it look easy.

Shout out to the clever designers of this hitch system that articulates a full 360 degrees in three dimensions.

The Lock-n-Roll articulating hitch system.

We got to know every pellet bag personally as we had to handle each one at least twice.

The first pallet, dry and secure.

Eventually we made it happen. And yes, we probably have enough pellet action for two New England winters. But that’s how we roll.

The Wilders are ready for winter.
